OpenTV in Claude and ChatGPT

Ask about your own TV and film history in a conversation, and keep it up to date by chat. OpenTV answers from your library; you approve every change before it is made.

What you need

The OpenTV app on iPhone or Android, with an account (Profile → Join).
OpenTV Plus.
OpenTV Backup turned on (Profile → ••• → Settings → Library → Backup → OpenTV Backup). Claude reads this copy of your library, and Sync, which comes on with it, carries changes back to your phone.

Connect it

Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Name it OpenTV and paste the connector URL above.
ChatGPT: add it as a connector, where your plan allows it.

In the OpenTV app, open Profile → ••• → Settings → Library → Claude & ChatGPT and tap Get a code. Type the six digits on the page and tap Allow. If you have an email account in OpenTV, you can sign in with your email and password there instead.

Tools

Search my library	Whether you watched a show or film, when, and how you rated it.
What I watched	Episodes and films between two dates.
Show progress	Season by season, how far you are in a show.
Episode details	One episode: when you watched it, your rating, feelings, favourite character and comments.
My stats	Totals for all time or one year: episodes, films, hours, top shows.
My ratings	The titles and episodes you rated, highest first.
My watchlist and lists	Your watchlist, favourites and lists.
Mark episode watched	Marks an episode watched, on a date if you give one. Asks first.
Unmark episode	Removes a watch of an episode. Asks first.
Mark film watched	Marks a film watched. Asks first.
Rate	Rates an episode or a film, half stars allowed. Asks first.
Add to watchlist	Adds a film to your watchlist, or follows a show. Asks first.
Set episode feeling	Notes how an episode made you feel. Asks first.

Changes reach your phone the next time you open OpenTV. A show has to be in your library before Claude can mark its episodes.

Privacy

Claude can read what you watched and when, your ratings, feelings and favourite characters, lists and comments. Your private notes are never included. Our server reads your backup only to answer what you ask and stores nothing from it; we count how often each tool is used, never what was asked. What you ask, and the answer, go to Anthropic or OpenAI under their own terms. Remove the connection any time in the app (Profile → ••• → Settings → Library → Claude & ChatGPT).
