Delete your account
OpenTV: TV & Movie Tracker — published by Insightfy LLC
Only the optional community uses an account at all. The tracker itself needs none,
and your library, watch history and imported data live on your phone — deleting your account does not
touch a single one of them.
Delete it from inside the app
- Open OpenTV.
- Go to the Profile tab and tap the ⋯ button, then
Settings.
- Stay on the Account tab and scroll to the Community section.
- Tap Delete my community account.
- Confirm. The account is deleted immediately — there is no waiting period and nothing to cancel.
Or ask us to do it
Write to [email protected] from the email
address on the account, or tell us the handle. We will delete it and reply to confirm, normally within a
few days and always within 30.
What is deleted
Immediately, and permanently:
| Deleted straight away | |
| Your sign-in identity | Apple, Google or email — signing in again creates a new, empty account |
| Your email address and password | if you had one |
| Your comments | and any photos attached to them |
| Your ratings, emotions and favourite-character votes | |
| Likes you gave | |
| Who you follow, who follows you, and anyone you blocked | |
| Your published lists | and everything in them |
| Your published shelves and totals | the shows, films and statistics your profile showed |
| Your notifications | |
| Your avatar and cover image | |
| Your push notification tokens | the app stops being able to notify that device |
What is kept, and for how long
Two things, both deliberate and neither containing anything personal:
- An empty profile record, for up to 30 days. Your handle, display name, bio, links
and picture are erased the moment you delete — what remains is an identifier with nothing in it. It
exists so that reports filed about other people's content, and moderation decisions already
taken, are not silently destroyed while they are still being acted on. A scheduled job purges the
shell afterwards.
- Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, for a short period.
These may include an IP address and are not linked to your account after it is gone.
Deleting some of your data, without deleting the account
You do not have to close the account to take something back. Each of these removes the item from our
server immediately, and none of them touches anything else:
- A comment — open it and tap ⋯ → Delete. Any photo attached to it
goes with it.
- A rating, an emotion or a favourite-character vote — tap it again on the episode
to clear it.
- A list — ⋯ → Hide from profile removes it from the server while
keeping it on your phone; deleting the list removes it from both.
- A show or film on your profile — removing it from your library, or from your
favourites, removes it from the shelves your profile publishes.
- Your picture, cover, display name, bio or links — clear them in
Profile → Edit.
- Leave the community entirely but keep the account —
Settings → Account → Leave the community signs this device out. Nothing is deleted,
and you can sign back in whenever you like.
If you would rather we removed something for you, write to
[email protected] and say what.
What was never ours to delete
Your episode-by-episode watch history and its dates were never sent to our server, so there is nothing
of them for us to delete. They are on your phone, and they stay there. To remove those, use
Settings → Data → Erase everything, or delete the app.
