How to import your TV Time history

TV Time shut down on 15 July 2026. If you downloaded your TV Time data export (a ZIP file) before it closed, OpenTV can bring all of it back: every show, episode, watch date, rating, film and list. OpenTV is free, has no ads, needs no account and is open source.

  1. Install OpenTV on your iPhone or Android phone.
  2. On the first screen, tap Import your TV Time data. Already set up? Go to Settings → Import TV Time export.
  3. Choose the ZIP file. Look in Files, Downloads, or the email TV Time sent it to.
  4. Keep the app open while it imports. When it finishes you get a summary of everything it brought in.

Questions

Is it free?
Yes. Tracking and importing are free, with no ads. An optional OpenTV Plus adds extras.
Do I need an account?
No. Your library lives on your phone. An account is only needed if you join the community.
What if I import twice?
Nothing is duplicated. A second import only fills in what is missing.
Which files work?
The TV Time data export ZIP. CSV exports made with community export tools work too.
I never downloaded my export. Can OpenTV get it?
No. OpenTV needs the export file itself; it cannot fetch your history from TV Time. You can still start fresh and add your shows in a few taps.
